Clarificion from the agency Current members of the Mississippi Air Nional Guard Duties Help As a POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-7, you will perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect, and assists local, ste, or federal law enforcement in investigions, arrests and/or detention, or apprehension, and perform prols within the assigned jurisdictions. These duties must be coordined with local law enforcement. (1) Performs the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions: Incumbent may full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulions within assigned jurisdiction. The incumbent is required to meet all requirements of Federal, DoD, AF, MAJCOM, Ste, and local level rules and regulions to maintain trainings and weapons qualificions, as a police officer on a military installion, which may include maintaining Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certificion. Prols the installion on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances; and investiges the incidents. Enforces traffic rules and regulions, including those reled to speed, reckless and drunken driving. Exercises search and assists local, ste, or federal law enforcement with arrest authority, detains witnesses, apprehends suspects, interviews witnesses and other persons involved, and determines whether facts warrant apprehension or lesser action. When dealing with witness/suspects, officers must consider the current social-political clime and find ways to allevie any tension resulting from events outside the installion which may raise prejudice/distrust of authority figures and increase conflict levels between officers and the people with whom they interact. Officers must also be aware of any witnesses'/suspects' possible gang affiliions and the difficulties/risks associed with them. (2)
Conducts Investigions/Surveillance:
Conducts investigions of crimes and complaints covering a wide range of subjects and allegions th are not within the scope of Air Force Office of Special Investigions (AFOSI) or the scope of the higher-level detectives assigned to the Squadron. Complaints range from simple inquiries to incidents/complaints requiring investigions th are relively short in durion and end with the detention of a suspect. Interviews personnel and collects da while conducting formal investigions on foot or in vehicles and inquiries into criminal acts such as assaults, major vehicle accidents, larceny of and/or damage to government and prive property, minor drug offenses, pay and allowance mters, misdemeanor offenses involving misuse of government computers, and other incidents as directed by competent authority. (3) Performs as Base Defense Operions Center (BDOC)
Controller:
Serves as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integred Defense forces. Executes the Quick Reaction Checklists (QRC) to ensure proper execution of routine, emergency, and alarm responses. Acts as the initial point of contact for all persons, activities, ors, and complainants either in person or telephonically regarding any activity th require police actions. Receives, interprets, evalues, and immediely decide wh action is approprie and implement th course of action. Incumbent provides guidance and direction to those personnel assigned duties the BDOC during his/her shift. Is responsible to the Flight Supervisor to the overall operion of the Police Desk. Monitors the installion alarmed facilities, which are linked to the primary monitor site. (4) Performs emergency response and incident command and control: Acts as the initial on scene commander for significant and castrophic events (e.g., active shooter, terrorist tacks, and nural disasters) and inities Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS). Executes emergency response procedures designed to isole, contain, and defe hostile actions and restore normal operions as quickly and efficiently as possible. (5) Performs other duties as assigned. Qualificions This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position come tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. You can be termined any time with a 30-day notice. If a permanent resource becomes available, incumbent may be converted to a permanent appointment without competition
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
: This is an excepted service position th requires membership in a compible military assignment in the Nional Guard. Selectee required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES
Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to terminion or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: A Nional Guard Title 32 Dual Stus applicant must have a valided understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupional series and grade. Applicant must have least six months of working experiences and the successful completion of the Air Force Technical Training AFSC/Security Forces School
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have 12 months of experiences in performing practical security force activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; and area security operions. The work experiences are in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installions. Have general experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. Experiences in securing crime and incident scenes; apprehending and detaining suspects; searches persons and property; and collects, seize, and preserve evidence. Experienced in conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains stements and testifies in official judicial proceedings. Has work experiences in responding to disaster and relief operions and participes in contingencies. Knowledgeable in developing plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement security force programs. Is competent and experienced in maintaining accountability and ensuring security for weapons, ammunition, and explosives utilized in the course of instruction in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions. Experienced in implementing ground weapons training programs. Experienced in the control and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualificion training. Have competencies in managing weapon placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Have experiences in inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing. Have experiences in firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability. Understands how to control and opere firing ranges and associed facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilition. OTHER SERIES QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTIVE FACTORS 1.
Current U.S. citizenship, nuralized citizen or permanent resident. 2. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with selective service. 3. Must possess a valid ste driver's license to opere government motor vehicles (GMV) in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operions. 4. Never convicted of domestic violence IAW the Lautenberg Amendment. 5. No history of excessive alcohol use or arrested in the past two years for two or more alcohol reled incidents regardless of disposition, except when proven not guilty. 6. No more than one active wage garnishment for delinquency. 7. No more than two delinquent charge off/collection (>= 30 days) payments within last two years. 8. Within three years prior to entry into military service, was never termined from civilian employment for reasons of misconduct, theft, or alcohol use. 9. Must not have used, distributed, or manufactured illicit narcotics or been arrested for any narcotics use, distribution or manufacturing. 10. Have not sniffed or used a substance to obtain an altered consciousness ste from aerosol spray, lighter fluid, petro chemical, adhesives, Freon, or any other chemical for a purpose not intended for use. 11. Qualified to bear firearms according to AFI 31-117, "Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel". 12. Never convicted by a general, special, or summary courts-martial. 13. Never received non-judicial punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which resulted in either reduction or suspended reduction in grade, or correctional custody for offenses involving substantied drug abuse as defined in AFI 44-121, "Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Trement (ADAPT) Program". 14. No acts of larceny, wrongful appropriion, robbery, burglary, housebreaking, misconduct in comb defined in UCMJ Articles 99-106, or any act th harmed or had the potential to harm the physical safety or well-being of animals to include Military Working Dogs. 15. Never convicted by a civilian court of a Cegory One, Two, or Three offense, nor exceeded the accepted number of Cegory Four offenses. The Cegory Three and Four traffic offenses alone are not disqualifying.

Position Series and AFSC require routine access to Secret merial or similar environment; therefore, award and retention of AFSC 3P0X1, completion of a current Nional Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit (NACLC) according to AFI 31-501, Personnel Security Program Management, are mandory. 21.
