Job Overview Embark on a dynamic career as a Probationary Police Officer, where you will serve as the frontline guardian of public safety and community well-being. Conduct patrols on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to monitor neighborhoods, public events, and high-traffic areas. Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents, providing immediate assistance and securing scenes. Investigate crimes by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and preparing detailed reports. Engage with community members to foster trust, provide information, and promote crime prevention strategies. Utilize surveillance techniques and technology to monitor suspicious activity and support criminal investigations. Apply first aid and CPR when necessary to stabilize victims until medical professionals arrive. Manage conflict situations with professionalism, employing conflict management skills to de-escalate tensions. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and investigations through comprehensive report writing. Participate in ongoing training programs covering law enforcement procedures, animal handling, immigration law, loss prevention, security protocols, and more. Experience Prior experience in law enforcement or military service is highly advantageous but not mandatory; relevant experience in security or criminal investigation is a plus. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Knowledge of law enforcement practices including criminal investigation techniques and report writing standards. Skills in driving patrol vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols. Familiarity with surveillance methods, conflict management strategies, animal handling (for officers working with animals or in animal-related environments), and immigration law is beneficial. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with diverse communities and team members. $42,129.36 - $51,000.00 per year
