Job description Agency Dept of Agriculture , Consumer Services Division Job Classification Title Police Officer I (S) Position Number Grade SW04 About Us The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The Department employs approximately 2,000 employees. Description of Work If you are a current NC State Government employee, you will not be considered for a temporary assignment. We are seeking Police Officers for the 2026 NC Mountain State Fair that begins on Friday, September 11, 2026, and ends on Sunday, September 20, 2026. If you enjoy people, working in a fast-paced environment, could use a little extra cash, and being part of a team is essential to a safe and fun event, we need you! The Fair is held at the Davis Event Center - 765 Boylston Hwy, Fletcher, NC 28732. If you are interested, you can make the magic happen by submitting your application.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range:
$40.00 - $50.00 Ability to act quickly and intelligently in emergency situations. Ability to communicate effectively through interpersonal interactions and written documentation. Ability to apply North Carolina laws to investigations. Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Necessary Special Qualifications:
Must complete all requirements for an NC Probationary Law Enforcement Certification, including completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training, in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission within one year of employment. Must be at least 20 years of age. Possession of a valid NC Driver's License.
