Job Description

The Town of Gibsonville is seeking full-time Police Officers. Must perform general law enforcement duties in accordance with established police methods and departmental practices and procedures. Must have the ability to follow written and oral instructions and to act with sound judgment. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school education or equivalent, and possess a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate issued by the State of North Carolina, meet the certificate qualifications issued by the NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards or be a current student in the BLET Program. Selected applicants will be required to work rotating shifts, complete a background investigation, and pass a physical examination including a drug-screening and psychological test. Minimum starting salary of $54,312.00. DOQ plus excellent benefits which are as follows:  Free Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance  5% 401(k) town contribution (no employee match required)  Supplemental Life and Long-term Disability Insurance  Pension in the NC Retirement System  13 paid holidays  Longevity Pay, access to a free clinic and generous vacation and sick leave accruals as well as competitive career ladder program.  5% increase after 6-months of satisfactory performance.
