Full Job Description Village of Lockland, Ohio Police Officer Salary :
$73,350-$81,955 per year plus 2% shift differential for night shift The Village of Lockland is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications are available at the Police Department, 101 North Cooper Avenue, Lockland, Ohio 45215 or online at www.locklandoh.org . Benefits for full-time officers include 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off, two Kelly days per quarter, generous HRA health plan, dental, vison and life insurance. State pension through the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund; 457 plan and/or Ohio Deferred Compensation options for additional retirement; sick, vacation, holiday (double time and a half for holidays worked and 12 hours additional straight pay if scheduled off), compensatory time, paid on-duty workout, tuition reimbursement and longevity pay after 3 years of service with the Village. Appointment to specialized positions such as
DART, HCPA
Honor Guard, SWAT, Underwater Search and Recovery, Mobile Field Force, and K9. (Prior full-time service as a police officer will be taken into consideration when determining starting pay, vacation, and benefits)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining law and order, investigating crimes and citizen complaints, and protecting life and property. Upholds the Constitution of the United States of American, the Constitution of the State of Ohio and the Ordinances of the Village of Lockland. The duties listed below are examples of various types of work that may be performed. Other duties may be assigned to the position. Patrol throughout the assigned patrol area, responds promptly to reports of crime or citizen complaints, Interviews victims, witnesses and suspects of crimes, accidents, or disturbances, apprehends persons violating the law, appears in both criminal and civil court as required, investigates suspicious persons or activities, enforces the traffic code, directs, and controls traffic, and completes reports on crimes and accidents. Follows all directives, policy, and procedures. Maintains positive public relations.
Qualifications:
