Job Description

The Commander of the Law Enforcement program is responsible for marketing, functionality, effectiveness, and compliance with the State of Ohio regulations for the Medina County Career Center Law Enforcement program.

Until Filled Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or possession of a General Education Development (GED) certificate. Completion of (90) quarter hours or (60) semester hours at an accredited college or university. Possess or ability to possess an Ohio teaching license for career technical licensure. Seven (7) years of experience as a full-time law enforcement officer, including two (2) years as a full-time law enforcement supervisor. Three professional references from current police/law enforcement administrators with the rank of lieutenant or above. No convictions for a felony offense, a crime of moral turpitude, or any peace officer disqualifying offense. Completion of an OPOTA Commander Training program or the ability to complete. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, frequently using Word and Excel with particular focus on reporting. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Professional tact, diplomacy, and presentation with staff and stakeholders. Strong connectivity in Medina County with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with administrators, staff, students, parents, associates, vendors, and community members. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and summers.
Desirable Qualifications:
Reside or work in Medina County. Currently active in Law Enforcement. Associate's degree or higher. Experience working within a budget.

Appropriate step on the Adult Education Certified Staff Salary Schedule, based on experience and education
