Job Description

The City of Collinsville Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Under general supervision, the Police Officer performs law enforcement duties to protect life and property, preserve public order, and enforce state laws and municipal ordinances. Duties include patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, conducting traffic enforcement and crash investigations, investigating criminal offenses, making lawful arrests, preparing accurate reports and case documentation, providing courtroom testimony, and interacting professionally with the public. Due to the size of the department, officers are expected to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and perform a wide range of law enforcement functions while maintaining the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be 21 years of age, be a United States citizen, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must hold a current Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Peace Officer License. A valid Texas driver's license is required. Applicants must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, psychological examination, medical examination, and drug screening. The position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments, and to perform all essential job functions while maintaining a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
