Job Description
The Whitney Police Department is accepting applications for two full time police officer positions. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications may be picked up in person at Whitney Police Department, 102 N. Colorado, Whitney, TX from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding holidays or by going to our website at: www.cityofwhitneytx.org The City of Whitney is located on U. S. Highway 22, approximately 15 miles west of Hillsboro in Hill County. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: enforcing state and municipal laws in order to ensure the safety of all citizens, investigating criminal offenses including gathering evidence, identifying and arresting suspects, preparing and presenting case information, providing community outreach, investigating traffic collisions and directing traffic at accident scenes. You may also be asked to respond to disturbance calls such as fights, burglaries, robberies, and crimes in progress to include physically controlling the offender. You may also participate in specialized investigations by gathering intelligence, participating in criminal investigations, and assisting in the surveillance of suspects and suspected criminal locations.

$61,152.00 per year depending on experience. (12-hr shifts, 84 hours per pay period) with every other weekend off.- Longevity Pay (after 2 years)

The applicant: Must be at least 21 years of age Hold a current Texas Peace Officer license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Have a high school diploma or GED Must hold a valid Texas Driver s License with acceptable driving record Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays Must be physically fit to perform the functions of a patrol officer Must possess good communications skills, both orally and in writing Must possess excellent problem-solving skills Must pass a rigorous background investigation and oral interview Must demonstrate the ability to work diligently and show proficiency under minimal direction or supervision.Similar jobs in Whitney, TX
