Chain | Cohn | Clark has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney in our Personal Injury Department. The associate attorney generally assists senior attorneys in representing clients in legal matters and plays an important role in managing cases from start to finish.
This position involves the following:
Manage and advance a caseload of personal injury matters through all stages of litigation, from initial investigation and pleadings through discovery, motions, and trial. Draft and argue motions; conduct depositions; propound and respond to written discovery. Maintain direct client communication, keeping clients informed and supported throughout the litigation process. Appear in Kern County Superior Court and other local venues for hearings, CMCs, and trial as needed. Work with attorneys and staff to develop case strategy and obtain the best possible result for the client. Strong communication is essential, as this role requires working closely with clients, adjusters, and other team members throughout the legal process. The position also requires ensuring compliance with all legal standards and ethical obligations. Qualified candidates should be an active member in good standing of the State Bar of California, and have minimum of three (3) years of civil litigation experience. Candidates should also have strong written and oral advocacy skills, and comfort with independent case management. Personal injury and litigation experience is strongly preferred but not required, as well as genuine ties to Bakersfield or the Southern San Joaquin Valley. This position is for someone who is committed to this community, not looking to relocate temporarily. Salary is dependent on experience. We offer a competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a performance-based bonus structure.
