The Opportunity:
We are a diversified global organization with operations across multiple industries and a long history of growth through strategic acquisitions and business expansion. We are seeking a Commercial Counsel to join our legal team and provide practical, business-focused legal support across a broad range of commercial and operational matters. This role offers significant exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams while supporting a dynamic portfolio of domestic and international businesses.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply, manufacturing, distribution, licensing, leasing, financing, and real estate-related contracts.
  • Provide practical legal guidance to business leaders and internal stakeholders on commercial matters.
  • Advise on complex contractual, transactional, and strategic business matters.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate transactions as needed.
  • Manage outside counsel and coordinate legal support across multiple business functions.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as business needs evolve.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California bar membership or ability to serve as in-house counsel in California.
  • 2+ years of in-house or law firm experience handling commercial contracts.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong business judgment and a practical approach to legal issues.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions.
  • Background supporting manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial, or similar.
  • Experience working with multi-entity or global organizations.
