- Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Litigator to join our legal team.
In this pivotal role, you will lead litigation cases across a diverse range of legal areas for cities, school districts and other public agencies. Your expertise will drive strategic legal actions, advocate for clients' interests, and ensure the effective resolution of disputes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your comprehensive legal knowledge and research skills in a collaborative environment. Dedicated work principles and professional and ethical skills are essential and Trial Experience Preferred. Duties Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motions, tort litigation, police conduct representation, wrongful termination. Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and CEB to support case strategies and develop compelling arguments. Manage, review and analyze volumes of digital evidence utilizing Everlaw cloud based eDiscovery and litigation platform Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, appeals and settlement agreements with clarity and professionalism. Negotiate settlements in conjunction with client and alternative dispute resolutions that align with clients' best interests while maintaining a positive rapport with client and opposing counsel. Collaborate with experienced litigators and senior associates on cases requiring specialized knowledge in areas like police conduct, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment claims. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with valid licensing to practice law in California Minimum 3 years litigation experience . Strong research skills to gather pertinent case law and statutory information. Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and persuasive arguments. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Familiarity with legal administrative processes including case management systems and court procedures. Knowledge of specialized areas such as tort litigation, wrongful termination and harassment claims is a plus. Join us if you're passionate about advocating for clients!
