The Immigration Services Manager plays a critical role in strategic decisions regarding immigration sponsorships to meet overall institutional goals while ensuring institutional compliance. As a key subject matter expert, this individual partners closely with leadership, faculty, physicians, HR, and academic programs to support the recruitment and retention of international talent. This role also serves as the organization's liaison with federal agencies and leads key visa programs while overseeing operations, compliance, and team leadership. As a successful candidate, you will: Provide strategic guidance on immigration sponsorship and employment-based visa matters across the organization Lead and manage Immigration Services operations, including staff oversight, workload management, and process optimization Advise leadership, faculty, and HR partners on complex immigration and compliance matters Oversee employment-based visa programs, including H-1B, O-1, TN, E-3, and permanent residency processes Ensure compliance with federal immigration regulations, including monitoring employment changes and maintaining required documentation Serve as Responsible Officer (RO) for the J-1 program and oversee exchange visitor compliance and reporting Serve as Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the F-1 program and ensure student visa compliance Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training related to immigration programs Manage audits, reporting, and data integrity across immigration systems and processes Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support institutional immigration strategy Your qualifications should include: Bachelor's degree with knowledge of U.S. immigration law (J.D. preferred) Minimum of 8 years of experience in employment-based immigration law and sponsorship processes Deep expertise in
H-1B, O-1, TN, E-3
visas and permanent residency pathways (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, PERM) Experience with J-1 and F-1 visa programs and regulatory requirements Demonstrated experience managing immigration compliance within a complex organization At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience Knowledge of I-9 and E-Verify processes Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise diverse stakeholders Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with a culturally diverse population City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
