Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal with at least 3 years experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. This role is crucial in supporting attorneys with case preparation, legal research, and document management, ensuring that all aspects of family law cases are handled efficiently and effectively. Duties Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings related to family law cases. Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, and contracts. Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw. Maintain accurate records of case progress and deadlines through effective legal case management. Interview clients to gather information pertinent to their cases. Organize and maintain filing systems for both physical and electronic documents. Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and other professionals involved in family law matters. Provide executive administrative support to attorneys as needed. Experience Proven paralegal experience with a focus on family law is essential; additional experience in areas such as estate planning, immigration law, or personal injury law is a plus. Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures. Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence. Proficient in conducting legal research and utilizing various legal databases. Experience with project management to handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for document review and data entry tasks. Strong clerical experience including filing, transcription, and maintaining office records. Effective phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
