Job Description

Escondido law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate with five years of experience. We are looking for a qualified attorney licensed to practice in California to manage civil litigation cases from inception through trial in any of the following practice areas: general civil litigation, personal injury, business, and real estate. Our firm values proven results, emotional intelligence, writing skills, and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a team member that can manage a moderate case load with limited supervision. Key Responsibilities:
Draft and file pleadings, including Complaints and Answers. Prepare, review, and serve discovery, including Form Interrogatories (DISC-001) and Requests for Admission. Manage complex civil cases in compliance with California Rules of Court. File documents using pleading paper formats, ensuring correct formatting. Handle Proof of Service (POS-010/POS-040) for all filings. Conduct legal research and draft motions (e.g., Summary Judgment, Motion to Strike).
Requirements:
Admitted to CA; license in good standing with no history of discipline. Strong knowledge of California Civil Procedure. Experience in drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery, taking depositions, attending mediation, arguing motions. Transactional experience in business and real estate transactions very helpful.
Technology skills critical:
Microsoft Office, Westlaw, MyCase, Adobe DC, MS Teams/Zoom, etc. Trial experience a plus Trust and probate litigation experience a plus, but not necessary Work primarily from our office.
