We are looking for an Experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team. This is a full time and in person position with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM. The role of our Paralegal is to provide an efficient high level of administrative legal support to our Attorney's. The Paralegal position is the liaison between the Attorney, clients, and other legal staff and personnel outside of the firm (i.e. opposing counsel, judges, court reporters, etc.). The Paralegal must be comfortable working under a stressful environment and possess an exceptional ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain organization and composure. The paralegal assists with case planning, development, and management, legal research, interviews clients, gathers facts and retrieves information, drafts and analyzes legal documents and collects, complies and utilizes technical information, to make recommendations to an attorney.
Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum three (3) years' experience as a family law paralegal and/or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position Ability to propound and respond to discovery Skills to interview clients and know how to work with diverse clients but also clients in emotionally charged situations; Ability to draft a marital settlement agreement, settlement conference statement, petition and summons, UCCJEA, disclosures, joinder of retirement plan documents, request for orders, responsive declarations, supplemental declarations, subpoenas, proofs of service, 827 motions, requests for production of documents, special interrogatories, requests for admissions, notices of depositions, and responses to all of the same; Dresses for success and professionally every day; Ability to search local rules, California Rules of Court, Family Code, Welfare and Institutions Code; and Knows how to conduct legal research and draft points and authorities.
Education:
Satisfies the Bus. & Prof. Code, § 6450 Completion of an approved paralegal program (Preferred)
