Qualifications Research Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a full-time, on-site Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation Defense to join their team in Fresno, CA. This role involves managing a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters and representing clients throughout all phases of the claims process. The attorney will appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB), conduct depositions, draft legal documents, and provide strategic counsel to clients.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials before the WCAB Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and expert witnesses Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence Evaluate claims and develop effective defense strategies Negotiate settlements and attend mediations as needed Provide regular reporting and guidance to clients Ensure compliance with California workers' compensation laws and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active California Bar license in good standing 2-6 years of workers' compensation defense experience preferred (litigation experience will be considered) Familiarity with WCAB procedures and California workers' compensation law Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent communication and client-facing abilities Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail #INDPRO
