Client is an AV-rated, premier public sector law firm in California, providing legal advice, guidance, and representation to cities, counties, law enforcement agencies, and more. Role Description Candidate must have 5+ years experience representing public agencies on transactional and advisory matters, and have direct experience serving as legal advisor to a planning commission or another public body or board. Must have experience providing advice on compliance with the Brown Act, Public Records Act and Political Reform Act. Candidate should be able to step in to cover planning commissions and other meetings. Ability to travel is desirable. Significant experience in at least one or more of the following areas is required: Land use and zoning laws (granting of Variances, CUPs), environmental regulation and compliance (including
CEQA/NEPA
), development agreements, redevelopment dissolution process, water law, election law, first amendment law, medical marijuana law, fair housing/group home regulation. Compensation
