Business Trial Mid-level Associate (Healthcare Litigation) (Los Angeles) Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a mid-level Business Trial Associate Attorney with at least 3-6 years of experience to join its nationally recognized healthcare litigation practice as an Associate in its Los Angeles office. Sheppard is a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm with over 1,000 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. The New York office currently has over 150 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including Labor & Employment, Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and more. Sheppard's multidisciplinary Healthcare Industry Team is among the most cutting edge and fastest growing in the country. With 230+ attorneys in 16 offices, our team serves all sectors of the healthcare industry, from hospitals and large provider systems to health plans, to digital health and AI solutions providers, to the institutional and private equity investors who support them. The Healthcare Litigation Industry Team represents healthcare and life sciences clients in complex commercial litigation and government investigations throughout the country. Our healthcare litigation team protects the interests of our clients in commercial litigation and civil disputes, internal investigations, enforcement actions, and rulemaking challenges. We handle high-stakes, cutting edge issues in an increasingly important sector of the economy, including regulatory disputes between health care service plans, health insurers, and their regulators; constitutional challenges to laws and regulations; reimbursement disputes between health care services plans and providers; privacy issues; and much more. We seek an associate eager for the opportunity to take on substantial case responsibilities, including taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and participating in trials. For the right candidate, the position will offer extensive client interaction, significant responsibilities, and career growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 3 to 6 years of litigation experience Comparable law firm experience Experience running cases and managing more junior attorneys Strong academic background from a top-tier law school Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills Trial experience is a plus, but not required Prior federal clerkship experience a plus Candidates must be an active member of the California State Bar.
