Established (40+ Years) Premier AmLaw 200 Full-Service Firm Seeking Public Entity Labor & Employment Associate Attorney in CaliforniaAn established California-based AmLaw 200 full-service law firm with over 40 years in practice is seeking a Public Entity Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its Public Entity Labor & Employment practice in Cerritos, Pasadena, Irvine, Riverside, or Marin. This role supports public agency clients statewide on litigation, labor relations, and employment advisory matters. The firm has a strong statewide platform, deep institutional public sector relationships, and a nationally recognized public entity practice.

This position offers immediate client-facing responsibility, meaningful litigation exposure, and the opportunity to advise public employers on complex workforce and governance matters. The ideal candidate has strong research and writing skills, litigation or labor and employment experience, and the confidence to handle client matters with limited supervision.
Offer:
Salary range: $140,000-$200,000 depending on class year, office, and experienceMonthly productivity bonus and end-of-year bonus potentialProfit sharing equal to 10% of compensationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer contribution and additional firm benefitsPaid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
Qualifications:
3+ years of labor and employment law or litigation experience with public sector experience preferredStrong research and writing skills with the ability to handle complex legal issuesExcellent client communication skills and professional judgmentTop academic credentials preferred with graduates from highly regarded California law schools encouraged to applyProactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and interested in public sector or local government practice
Responsibilities:
Supporting litigation in trial and appellate courts including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and settlement negotiationsAdvising public employers on ADA and FEHA accommodations, FMLA and CFRA compliance, FLSA wage and hour matters, and workplace policiesAssisting with workplace investigations and drafting investigation reports and findingsParticipating in administrative hearings before arbitrators and the Public Employment Relations BoardSupporting labor relations matters including meet-and-confer obligations, union information requests, discipline notices, and Skelly decisionsDrafting contracts, separation agreements, position statements, policies, and client advisoriesResearching and drafting legal opinions for public agency clients on employment and governance matters
