Responsibilities Provide expert legal counsel and representation in family law matters such as divorce, child custody, and adoption cases. Handle criminal defense cases by preparing legal strategies, negotiating plea agreements, and representing clients in court proceedings. Manage personal injury claims by investigating incidents, assessing damages, and advocating for fair settlements or verdicts. Assist clients with immigration law issues including visas, asylum applications, and deportation defense. Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other reputable databases to support case strategies. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence with clarity and precision. Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while maintaining professionalism. Prepare for litigation by organizing case files, gathering evidence, and developing comprehensive case plans. Stay current on evolving laws related to estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant disputes, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and other relevant areas. Maintain meticulous records of all case activities and ensure compliance with legal administrative procedures. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience practicing family law, criminal law, personal injury law or immigration law; additional expertise in litigation is highly desirable. Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw and LexisNexis platforms. Excellent writing skills demonstrated through clear legal drafting and documentation. Ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Familiarity with legal administrative processes including case management systems and document filing procedures. Knowledge of estate planning strategies, environmental regulations, landlord-tenant laws, securities regulations, tribal laws & regulations, patent procedures, and workers' compensation statutes is a plus. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
