Job Description

We are looking for a Litigation Associate to join a respected civil defense practice in Orange, California on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney with at least 3 years of experience who is eager to take on substantive case responsibility, strengthen courtroom and case strategy skills, and work closely with an experienced legal team. The role offers broad exposure to civil defense matters while providing a collaborative environment that values strong advocacy, sound judgment, and effective client service.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee litigation matters through each stage of the case lifecycle, from initial filings and case assessment through resolution or trial.
  • Represent clients in civil defense disputes involving personal injury, premises liability, habitability, product-related claims, and transportation matters.
  • Perform legal research and prepare persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court submissions in support of case strategy.
  • Manage written discovery, review records and documents, and evaluate materials for responsiveness, relevance, and privilege concerns.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, settlement discussions, hearings, and other court-related proceedings.
  • Support trial readiness by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and assisting with overall case presentation planning.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel to move matters forward efficiently.
