- Supportive, trauma-informed work environment Position Summary House of Ruth is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed Staff Attorney to provide survivor-centered legal advocacy and representation for individuals impacted by domestic violence and related trauma.
- Provide legal consultation and representation in matters including: o Domestic Violence Restraining Orders o Child custody and visitation o Family law matters o Victim advocacy and related legal issues
- Represent clients in court hearings and legal proceedings
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and declarations
- Collaborate with advocates, counselors, and community partners to support survivor safety and stability
- Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation
- Provide legal education and community outreach as needed Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- Experience in domestic violence, family law, legal aid, or related fields preferred
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and survivor-centered advocacy
- Excellent communication, legal writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
