This role is vital in empowering families by providing peer support, guidance, and mentorship to parents navigating complex challenges related to child welfare, behavioral health, or developmental needs. The ideal candidate will possess firsthand experience as a parent or caregiver, coupled with a strong commitment to fostering positive family outcomes through empathetic engagement and resource navigation. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families while working within a collaborative and supportive environment. The Family Support Partner provides peer support, advocacy, mentorship, and guidance to families participating in services. This role is designed for individuals with lived experience as a parent, caregiver, or family member supporting a child or loved one with mental health, behavioral, developmental, emotional, or system-related challenges. Family Support Partners use their lived experience to build trust, provide encouragement, assist families in navigating systems of care, and help strengthen family engagement in services and treatment planning. The role emphasizes family-centered, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and collaborative support approaches. Responsibilities Provide peer support, encouragement, and mentorship to families and caregivers Assist families in navigating mental health, school, medical, developmental, social service, and community systems Support caregiver participation in treatment planning and team meetings Help families identify strengths, goals, and needs Connect families with community resources and supports Provide advocacy and emotional support Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and service providers Facilitate support groups, workshops, or parent education activities when applicable Model healthy communication, coping skills, and self-advocacy Maintain documentation and complete required trainings Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality Skills Lived experience as a parent, caregiver, or family member supporting a child or individual with mental health, behavioral, developmental, emotional, educational, or system-related challenges Ability to share lived experiences appropriately to support and engage families Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse families and communities Knowledge of community resources, behavioral health systems, school systems, and family support services preferred Experience working with children, youth, or families preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Bilingual Spanish Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team committed to family-centered care.
