Job Description

GPAC, a recruitment firm with 30+ years of experience, is partnered with a well-established and highly respected law firm seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join their growing Southern California team. This firm has a strong reputation across Southern California for its insurance defense, general liability, and institutional/medical malpractice practice , and is known for maintaining a collaborative, team-driven environment with high-quality, defensible casework. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents Handle written discovery and take/defend depositions (including experts and medical providers) Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and negotiations Partner with senior attorneys to develop litigation and trial strategy Communicate regularly with clients, carriers, and internal teams Core Functions Analyze liability, causation, and damages in general liability and medical malpractice cases Prepare and argue motions, including MSJs and other dispositive motions Review and interpret medical records, billing, and expert reports Assist with trial prep and participate in trial as opportunities arise Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Active California Bar license (required) 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense, general liability, and/or medical malpractice litigation Deposition and motion practice experience preferred Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage cases independently in a fast-paced environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance PTO + paid holidays 401(k) with potential match Bonus structure tied to performance Apply / Contact For more information or to apply confidentially: πŸ“§ zach.zink@gogpac.com πŸ“ž 605-501-4825
