Boutique Catastrophic Injury Firm | South Pasadena and/or Long Beach, CA About Our Firm We are an elite boutique litigation firm specializing in catastrophic injury cases (primarily involving aerospace, automotive, trucking, motorcycle, and product liability matters) and class actions. Our small team has secured seven, eight and nine-figure settlements and verdicts against Fortune 500 companies, combining deep engineering expertise with exceptional legal advocacy. We're expanding our presence with a new Long Beach office while maintaining strong ties to our Los Angeles headquarters, located in South Pasadena. The Opportunity We seek an exceptional Senior Associate to join our growing practice. This role offers unparalleled exposure to every phase of class litigation and complex civil litigation-from initial investigation through trial-handling cases with (tens of) millions at stake. You'll work directly with other senior attorneys and the Managing Partner on legally and technically complex matters requiring both legal excellence and the ability to learn engineering details. Ideal candidates may include former federal clerks, BigLaw litigators seeking greater responsibility, or experienced plaintiff-side attorneys handling complex litigation. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience, including substantial performance-based bonuses tied to case results and contributions, as well as origination bonuses for cases brought to the firm. Why This Role Is Different Direct access to high-stakes litigation from day one Meaningful responsibility-not document review silos Opportunity to work closely with nationally recognized experts and trial lawyers Small-team environment with substantial autonomy and mentorship Ability to help shape litigation strategy in precedent-setting matters Core Responsibilities Participate in all phases of complex litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal Draft and argue substantive motions in state and federal court, including discovery, dispositive, and expert-related motions Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses Work closely with nationally recognized experts in engineering, accident reconstruction, biomechanics, and related technical disciplines Analyze technical evidence, engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and failure analyses Contribute directly to trial strategy, expert development, witness preparation, and courtroom presentation Assist with appellate briefing and preservation of key legal issues for review Required Qualifications Federal Litigation experience 7 years civil litigation experience, preferably in class action or complex civil litigation. Admitted to practice law in either: California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Colorado, Washington State, Florida, Texas, or Illinois.
