  • Full-time Public Defense Attorney An established firm based in Stockton, CA with over 40+ years in practice is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with 3-10 years of experience to join their team onsite with some flexibility for remote work.
This role focuses on defense of civil rights litigation , including police misconduct matters, AB 218 childhood sexual assault claims against counties and CPS, and general defense-side civil litigation involving public entities in state and federal courts.

Qualifications:
Admission to the California Bar in good standing 3-10 years of litigation experience handling civil rights or public entity defense matters Experience defending lawsuits in state and federal courts Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Ability to manage cases independently and collaborate with litigation teams Prior experience representing public entities or governmental agencies preferred
Responsibilities:
Defend public entities in civil rights litigation including police-related matters and AB 218 claims Handle all phases of litigation from case evaluation through trial and resolution Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses Conduct and defend depositions and participate in court hearings Advise public entity clients on litigation strategy and risk exposure Collaborate with partners and associates on complex defense matters For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
