Location:
This position is based in Tustin, California and is primarily in person, with the possibility of hybrid flexibility after 60 days of employment. Candidates must currently live within 30 miles of the Tustin office.

Applicants must be active members in good standing of the California State Bar and have 3+ years of legal experience. Public agency, education law, employment, litigation, or school district experience is strongly preferred. Our team provides practical, responsive, and high-quality legal counsel across education law, governance, employment, labor relations, student matters, investigations, facilities, business issues, and litigation. Confidential Employer. Job Description Provide legal counsel to education and public agency clients on education law, employment disputes, governance, employee discipline, workplace investigations, ADA accommodations, and related matters. Represent clients in litigation, mediation, arbitration, administrative hearings, and matters in state and federal court. Advise clients on business operations, facilities management, real estate, energy matters, public works, and other operational issues. Support school district and public agency clients with labor relations and collective bargaining matters. Handle student-related legal issues, including student discipline, First Amendment issues, FERPA, conduct hearings, and compliance matters. Assist with special education matters, including IEPs, Section 504 meetings, compliance complaints, and related legal guidance. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare legal memoranda, develop client advice, and help solve complex legal issues for public education clients. Work closely with attorneys and clients in a collaborative environment that values judgment, responsiveness, and practical solutions. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing of the California State Bar. 3+ years of legal experience. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Litigation, public agency, education law, employment law, or administrative hearing experience preferred. Trial experience is a plus. Experience advising school districts, community college districts, public entities, or education clients is a plus. Ability to work well in a small, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
