Position Overview:
The Employment Litigation Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting the Employment Law Department. As the ideal candidate, you should be a proactive individual possessing exemplary research capabilities, organizational acumen, legal drafting proficiency, and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, empathetic, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
Filing legal documents with state court, federal court, and arbitration providers Handling service of pleadings, discovery, motions etc. Reserving and scheduling motions with the court, depositions and court reporters with deposition providers, mediations and mandatory settlement conferences Calendaring all applicable deadlines according to CCP and FRCP Calendaring all hearing dates, depositions, client meetings/calls, calls/meetings with opposing counsel and maintaining the attorneys' schedule Tracking local rules and procedures for hearings and motion practice on each case Drafting standard litigation shells such as written discovery responses and requests, initial disclosures, deposition notices and objections, declarations, motion shells Saving all case related documents and information on the client's internal file
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Understanding of legal language, principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment. Professional and empathetic client service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and case management software. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and department needs. Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years experience (preferred)
Compensation:
$25 to $45 per hour
