Job Description

Stahly Mehrtens LLC is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of family law experience to join our small, top-rated, and close-knit team. We are a family law firm dedicated exclusively to helping clients navigate life's most challenging transitions with compassion, professionalism, and practical solutions. Our attorneys draw on decades of experience to resolve cases efficiently while tailoring our approach to each client's unique circumstances. We believe that not every case belongs in the courtroom. Whenever possible, we work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes through pre-filing settlements, negotiation, and mediation—even when the opposing party is difficult or uncooperative. When litigation is necessary, however, we are experienced, confident advocates who are fully prepared to protect our clients' interests in court. We're looking for an enthusiastic attorney who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, values exceptional client service, and appreciates a healthy work-life balance as much as we do.

Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance, and property division. Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and prepare cases for mediation, hearings, and trial. Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop effective case strategies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of family law experience preferred. Trial experience preferred. Experience drafting legal documents, including motions, separation agreements, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), trial management certificates, and mediation statements. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high ethical standards. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado at the time of application. Must be a collaborative team player.
