Job Description

Hernandez & Associates is a downtown Denver Criminal and Immigration Defense ("Crimigration") law firm, looking for an experienced criminal defense attorney to join our team of seasoned trial attorneys. Successful candidates will have Colorado licensure, 2+ years of criminal defense experience, and be eager to work in a team environment to achieve positive outcomes for citizen and non-citizen clients. Spanish language proficiency is a plus, but not required. It is anticipated that the attorney will self-manage a case load of misdemeanor and felony matters with the assistance of dedicated bilingual support staff and a team of experienced trial attorneys. We offer a wide variety of challenging and stimulating work in a professional and collegial atmosphere. Our offices are located at 1801 York Street Denver, Colorado 80206. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop individualized case strategies.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various legal matters.
Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active licensure to practice law in Colorado.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and litigating criminal law matters.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
