Macdonald & Company are partnered with a national multifamily developer, who boast a robust ground-up pipeline of projects across the Western U.S. to appoint a talented Development Associate to work across a variety of projects. About the Role The Multifamily Development Associate will support the execution of multifamily development projects from early-stage underwriting through pre-construction. This role sits at the intersection of investments and development, with a strong emphasis on financial analysis, due diligence, and investment committee materials, alongside hands-on involvement in the entitlement and pre-development process. Key Responsibilities Lead and support underwriting for new development opportunities, including financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and deal evaluation Prepare investment committee materials, including detailed memos and supporting analysis Conduct and coordinate due diligence efforts across acquisitions and pre-development phases Assist in managing zoning, entitlements, permitting, and utility coordination Track key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across the pre-development lifecycle Coordinate third-party consultants and maintain project calendars Prepare and update internal development reporting packages Support and help guide junior team members, including Development Analysts Ensure seamless handoff of project information to construction, asset management, and operations teams
