Job Description

STATE'S ATTORNEY JUDICIAL DISTRICT OF DANBURY
Applications are being accepted for the position of State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury for the Division of Criminal Justice (Division). The successful applicant shall hold office from date of appointment to June 30, 2034 , and thereafter be subject to appointment to an eight (8) year term. The annual salary is $214,686. A description of this position is available on our website at www.ct.gov/dcj. The State's Attorney shall be in charge of the investigation and prosecution of all criminal matters within a Judicial District. The State's Attorney plans, organizes and directs the operation of their Office; prosecutes the most complex or sensitive cases; serves as a member of the senior management team of the Division and acts on behalf of the Division and the people who reside within their Judicial District. The position requires significant experience in the prosecution of major crimes and the investigation of complex and sensitive matters. Experience in handling criminal appeals and other post-conviction litigation is strongly preferred. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate must be an attorney-at-law and shall have been admitted to the practice of law and admitted to the Connecticut Bar for at least three years; residency in the State of Connecticut is a prerequisite to appointment. The State's Attorney shall devote their full time to the duties of his office and shall not otherwise engage in the practice of law and shall not be a partner, member or associate of a law firm.
