Description
The Washington DC office of Squire Patton Boggs, a leading global law firm, is seeking an experienced Mid-level Associate with excellent writing, organization, and project management skills to join our dynamic team. Knowledge of and experience with international trade and related policy areas and Congressional or Executive Branch experience strongly preferred. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your legal expertise and project management acumen in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, analyze, interpret and summarize international policy, regulatory, and legal issues
Contribute to complex legal matters across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions
Implement and optimize legal project management methodologies to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction
Support client relationships and expectations through effective communication and reporting
Mentor and guide junior associates, fostering a collaborative team culture
Drive innovation in legal service delivery through process improvements
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a top-tier law firm or U.S. government
Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is expected. If not currently admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, must be admitted to a U.S. State Bar and in good standing
Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record
Demonstrated expertise in international trade and related policy and legal areas and legal project management techniques and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple high-stakes client relationships
Proven ability to quickly and accurately analyze, interpret and summarize complex international policy, regulatory and legal issues
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with project management methodologies
Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
Proactive approach to business development and innovation
