Full Time About Us We are an established treatment center organization operating across multiple states, including Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, and Oklahoma. We are committed to providing high-quality care while maintaining full compliance with evolving employment and labor regulations. We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to support our ongoing operations and help us navigate the complexities of multi-state corporate management, employment matters, and compliance. Position Summary The In-House Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor for the organization on corporate legal matters, including contracts, real estate, employment, labor, and compliance across our multi-state operations. This role will work closely with executive leadership, HR, and operational teams to support contract and lease negotiations through completion, ensure compliance, reduce risk, and help maintain a trusted, compliant workplace. Key Responsibilities Effectively negotiate, draft, and review enforceable contracts and lease agreements in line with the company's needs Monitor and manage any litigation arising out of a contract or leasing dispute Provide legal counsel on federal, state, and local employment and labor laws, with a focus on FL, AZ, NV, WA, and OK Advise on employee relations issues, including discipline, terminations, accommodations, and workplace investigations Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, leave requirements, and workplace safety regulations across all operating states Draft, review, and update employment policies, handbooks, and agreements to reflect multi-state requirements Manage and oversee employment-related litigation, claims, and agency charges (e.g., EEOC, DOL, and applicable state agencies) Partner with HR to develop compliant and practical policies and training programs Monitor legal developments in FL, AZ, NV, WA, and OK and proactively advise leadership on potential impacts for contracting, leasing, and compliance matters Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state (licensure in FL, AZ, NV, WA, or OK strongly preferred; multi-state licensure a plus) 5+ years of experience in employment and labor law (in-house experience strongly preferred) Demonstrated experience advising organizations operating in multiple states, including FL, AZ, NV, WA, and OK Expertise in drafting and reviewing enforceable contracts and lease agreements Ability to negotiate on the company's behalf in both contracting and leasing Strong knowledge of federal employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII) and state-specific variations Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated industries is highly desirable Experience supporting treatment centers, healthcare providers, or similar organizations Familiarity with union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, labor relations, and specific agreement procedures (particularly in states where applicable) Background in compliance program development We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at all levels of the organization.
