Associate Attorney (Creditor's Rights Litigation) — Honolulu, HawaiʻiPosition Overview
LEE LAW GROUP, LLLC
is a Hawaiʻi-based law firm representing financial institutions, mortgage servicers, investors, and other regulated clients in contested and non-contested matters across the State of Hawaiʻi. We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is highly detail-oriented, technically strong in civil procedure and motion practice, and comfortable operating in a compliance-driven environment with strict deadlines, documentation standards, and audit-ready file management. The Firm's physical office is located in Ala Moana area in Honolulu. The firm also maintains a limited Trusts & Estates practice, with potential for the Associate to expand their role in estate planning and probate administration depending on interest and workload. Key ResponsibilitiesLitigation / Creditors' Rights Manage a litigation docket involving financial institution and servicer representation, including contested matters, dispositive motions, and evidentiary proceedings. Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, declarations/affidavits, proposed orders, discovery, and settlement documentation with an emphasis on accuracy and record integrity. Prepare cases for hearings and trial, including admissibility foundations, evidentiary exhibits, and witness preparation where applicable. Conduct legal research and provide written analysis on Hawaiʻi statutes, rules, and case law relevant to creditor remedies, enforcement actions, and related disputes. Coordinate with client stakeholders, servicer personnel, and vendors to gather and validate records, payment histories, business records declarations, and other compliance-sensitive documentation. Court Appearances / Hearings Appear frequently in Hawaiʻi State Circuit Courts and District Courts for motion hearings, status conferences, settlement conferences, and evidentiary proceedings. Maintain a strong command of court rules, local practice expectations, calendaring, and appearance readiness. Compliance, Quality Control & File Integrity (Core Expectation) Work under strict, lengthy compliance requirements typical of regulated financial institution/servicer representation, including: deadline-driven workflows and audit-ready file practices; precise documentation standards and version control; consistent adherence to internal checklists, client guidelines, and litigation hold/records protocols; prompt escalation of issues affecting accuracy, timelines, or compliance posture. Ensure pleadings and supporting declarations are consistent with the client record and prepared to withstand scrutiny in contested litigation. Trusts & Estates (as assigned / growth opportunity) Assist with estate planning documents, probate pleadings, trust administration, and related client counseling (training available depending on experience). Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active Hawaiʻi bar license in good standing or pending admission with a clear plan/timeline to become licensed in Hawaiʻi imminently.
Strong litigation fundamentals:
civil procedure, motion practice, legal writing, and oral advocacy. High technical proficiency with document-heavy matters, including careful citation, record review, and issue spotting. Ability to thrive in a compliance-forward environment with rigorous standards, high accountability, and tight deadlines. Professional judgment, discretion, and strong client-service orientation. Preferred Experience (Not Required) Prior experience representing financial institutions, mortgage servicers, creditors' rights clients, or work involving regulated industries. Courtroom experience in contested hearings, evidentiary proceedings, or bench trials. Familiarity with foreclosure, enforcement actions, collections litigation, bankruptcy-related issues, or title/real property disputes. Exposure to trusts & estates, probate, or estate planning.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
Commensurate with experience.

Work Location Hawaiʻi-based position with frequent in-person court appearances in Circuit and District Courts statewide (as required by docket and scheduling).
