Job Description

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for real estate law? The Real Estate Service Center (TRESC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented In-House Attorney to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring smooth real estate transactions by providing legal support and expertise.

Responsibilities:

Analyze real estate abstracts and prepare accurate title commitments and title opinions Review documents for title clearing to ensure compliance with all legal requirements. Draft, review, and revise various real estate transfer documents and other title clearing documents. Assist with resolving company legal issues as needed. Stay up-to-date on current real estate laws and regulations. Oversee the staff and operations at The Real Estate Service Center In addition to core legal duties, provide guidance and support on HR matters as they arise.

This may include:

Assisting with employee terminations Advising on compliance with employment laws Partnering with external legal counsel for complex issues

Qualifications:

Active Iowa Law License Degree from an accredited law school Admission to the Iowa State Bar Association Must get approved with Iowa Title Guaranty to write title commitments under them Minimum of 1 year of experience in real estate law, title insurance, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
