Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a broad mix of corporate matters and commercial real estate work in Evanston, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to advise on complex transactions, draft key legal agreements, and partner closely with stakeholders on business-critical matters. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, a practical approach to legal problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic legal environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Advise on commercial real estate matters involving purchases, sales, leasing arrangements, financing transactions, and related due diligence activities.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate transaction documents connected to property acquisitions, dispositions, and loan agreements.
  • Draft and revise corporate governance and business contracts, including operating agreements, joint venture arrangements, and employment-related documents.
  • Provide legal guidance on structuring business deals to align with organizational objectives while minimizing risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to move transactions forward efficiently and resolve legal issues as they arise.
  • Manage contract workflows and document organization using legal practice tools and standard business software, including Clio and Microsoft applications.
  • Work with legal technology platforms, including AI-enabled tools such as Starbook or comparable systems, to support research, drafting, and matter management.
