This position is ideal for an attorney who is confident in the courtroom, understands the demands of family law practice, and is prepared to manage a high-volume caseload with professionalism, preparation, and good judgment. The successful candidate must be able to handle litigation responsibilities, communicate effectively with clients, negotiate with opposing counsel, draft pleadings and motions, and appear in court regularly. We are seeking someone who is diligent, organized, ambitious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in Spanish and English and comfortable working directly with clients in emotionally sensitive and high-conflict family law matters. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Frequent morning court appearances in family law matters Preparing and arguing motions Drafting pleadings, petitions, responses, discovery, and court orders Conducting legal research and preparing written legal arguments Managing a high-volume family law caseload Communicating regularly and professionally with clients Negotiating with opposing counsel Participating in client consultations and intake meetings Preparing for hearings, pretrials, settlement conferences, and trials Working closely with attorneys and staff to move cases forward efficiently Maintaining organized case files and meeting court deadlines
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in Illinois Experience in family law strongly preferred Litigation and courtroom experience required Fully bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, opposing counsel, and the court Ability to handle challenging situations with confidence and sound judgment Must be a team player while also capable of working independently About the
