This position will play a critical role in handling foreclosure defense matters, real estate transactions, legal operations, title-related issues, landlord/tenant matters, and investor-focused legal strategies across multiple areas of our business. This is an opportunity to work directly with an active real estate investment and development company involved in acquisitions, construction, property management, title coordination, and legal problem-solving throughout the Chicago market. Responsibilities Handle residential and commercial foreclosure defense matters Negotiate with lenders, opposing counsel, servicers, and banks Draft and review motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and legal correspondence Assist with judicial sale postponements, reinstatements, loan workouts, and litigation strategy Review title issues, liens, clouds on title, and curative matters Support real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and investor transactions Prepare and review contracts, addendums, affidavits, disclosures, and legal notices Assist with eviction matters and landlord/tenant disputes Coordinate with title companies, lenders, brokers, contractors, and investors Provide legal guidance across Mitch and Banc operations including real estate, construction, and property management Help build internal legal systems and processes for a growing organization Qualifications Licensed Attorney in the State of Illinois Experience in foreclosure defense, real estate law, or civil litigation preferred Strong negotiation and communication skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently Familiarity with Cook County and surrounding county court systems preferred Knowledge of title review, investor transactions, and distressed property situations is a plus Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience Foreclosure litigation Real estate closings Investor representation Evictions and landlord/tenant law Construction or contractor dispute matters Title review and curative work Transactional real estate drafting Compensation Compensation structure may include: Base salary Performance bonuses Deal participation opportunities Long-term growth potential within Mitch and Banc Assistance with building real estate portfolio using co resources About Mitch and Banc Mitch and Banc is a diversified real estate and investment company involved in: Real Estate Investment Construction & Development Foreclosure Defense Support Title & Transaction Coordination Property Management Community and Non-Profit Initiatives We are looking for individuals who value honesty, urgency, accountability, problem-solving, and long-term growth.
