Lead and develop staff appraisers, building and strengthening your team True practice ownership: lead your specialty, shape standards, and control quality Dedicated support structure so you can focus on high-value appraisal work High-income upside tied directly to your production and leadership capabilities Key Responsibilities Manage a defined practice area or areas (e.g., office, industrial, retail, multifamily, or other specialty) and serve as the firm's subject matter expert for that property type Assign appraisal assignments to staff appraisers within the practice, matching complexity to experience level, capacity, and ability Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff appraisers on methodology, approaches, and property type-specific analysis Review and approve appraisal reports produced within the practice, ensuring completeness and SVS quality standards Maintain current knowledge of market trends, regulatory developments, and valuation methodology relevant to the appraisal industry and practice area(s) Take on complex or high-profile assignments within your practice area(s), including property inspections and client interactions Draft narrative commercial real estate appraisal reports What We're Looking For Active Certified General Appraiser license (Illinois or reciprocal state) Minimum 5+ years of commercial appraisal experience , with demonstrated expertise in one or more property types Experience reviewing appraisal work product and providing constructive technical feedback Thorough command of USPAP and applicable appraisal standards Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce and critically evaluate narrative appraisal reports Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines across a team Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with appraisal software and data platforms (CoStar, ARGUS, etc.) preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation commensurate with experience ($100,000 to $150,000) + revenue-based incentive structure Healthcare Coverage (choice between): o PPO fully insured plan with doctor copays and prescription drug benefits, or o PPO HRA Compatible Plan 401(k) Plan with company match Ready to Lead a Practice at SVS?
