Hiring Agency Finance & Administration Cabinet | Office of the Secretary Location 200 Mero St 5th Fl Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Office of Legal Services for the Finance and Administration Cabinet (Cabinet) provides a wide array of legal services including, but not limited to, legal advice related to statewide procurement, property acquisitions and transfers, human resource administration, equal employment opportunity matters, and Kentucky Open Records Act requests. Attorneys in this office often represent the Cabinet before administrative boards and at all levels of state and federal Court. We are looking for an attorney with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and excellence to become part of our dedicated and positive team. Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to the Cabinet's Office General Counsel regarding various real property and procurement matters, including reviewing real estate instruments and title documents, drafting legal instruments for property transactions, and providing research or solutions to various real property related issues brought to the Office of General Counsel by internal and external agencies. In some cases, provide support on litigation involving real estate titles, or other real estate related issues. Litigating cases involving the Cabinet throughout administrative proceedings and at all levels of state and federal court. Provide legal input on Cabinet policies and procedures, administrative regulations, and proposed legislation relating to financial management, information technology, public procurement, and real property. Perform contract review, provide input related to statewide or agency specific procurement, and handle legal matters involving the Kentucky Model Procurement Code. Key Skills Ability to work independently. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Analyze and develop solutions for complex and novel property related issues brough to Finance for resolution. Exceptional oral and written communication expertise. Positive attitude and is a self-starter. Minimum Requirements

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
Must have one year of experience as a licensed attorney in the practice of law or one year of supervised practice under Kentucky Supreme Court Rule (SCR) 2.116, or a combination totaling at least one year of experience. Substitute

(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky OR comply with Kentucky Supreme Court Rule (SCR) 2.111 (limited certification of admission to practice), SCR 2.112 (attorney participants in defender or legal services programs), SCR 2.117 (practice pending admission). Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions Duties are performed primarily in both office and courtroom settings. Travel is required. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in
