Job Description:
DarrowEverett LLP is looking for an IP Patent Associate Attorney with immediate availability. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation. Role & Responsibilities Conduct patent and trademark clearance searches and provide risk assessments and strategic advice. Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent and trademark applications. Represent clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Manage trademark portfolios and coordinate with counsel. Advise on copyright registration, enforcement, and licensing strategies. Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, and NDAs. Support IP due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on matters involving IP rights.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 8+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department with a focus on intellectual property. Demonstrated experience in patent and trademark prosecution, TTAB proceedings, and copyright matters. Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision. USPTO registration is preferred for candidates handling patent prosecution. Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis. A high degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion. Organization and time management skills.
