Job Description:
Cummings Properties, a major commercial real estate development and management firm, has an immediate opening for an in-house leasing counsel for its 2.7 million square foot Beverly portfolio. This full-time, in-person position at Cummings' Beverly leasing office offers management level business leadership, document management, and mentoring opportunities on a fast-paced, collaborative leasing and real estate management team.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting and reviewing a wide range of lease documents and transaction details with responsibility for final approval prior to execution; Negotiating terms with client counsel as needed, assessing business and legal risks, and working toward resolution to close the sale; Auditing lease processing and decisive dates/lease action items with internal departments to ensure accuracy and proper administration of leases; Training and mentoring colleagues on lease terms and language, updating legal templates as needed, and collaborating with peers in corporate legal department.
The preferred candidate will possess:
At least five years of transactional real estate/leasing experience with proven success as a final sign-off for legal documents; Excellent analytical and writing abilities; Effective communication, listening, and negotiation skills; A practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving; Leadership and mentoring experience; Drive, work ethic, emotional intelligence, enthusiasm, motivation, and persistence.
