Job Description

Community Legal Aid (CLA) is the civil legal aid program serving the low-income and elderly residents of Central and Western Massachusetts. The starting salary for staff attorneys is $73,000, which is based on a union scale and adjusted upward depending on experience. Job duties for staff attorneys vary slightly based on their practice area; generally, staff attorneys interview clients and provide legal advice, information, referrals, and representation at administrative and judicial proceedings; perform legal research; negotiate with opposing parties; and participate in community and client education efforts.
