  • Your role and responsibilities
  • As a
Contract Negotiator:
Lead & Cross Brand Deal Support, you will provide end-to-end contracts and negotiation support to close deals across IBM brands and generate revenue. This role involves direct client-facing interactions, requiring the ability to articulate IBM's contracting strategy and assess risks associated with non-standard terms and conditions.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
    Review and Draft Contracts:
    Review client redlines, draft changes to non-standard terms and conditions, and advise on contractual terms and conditions to support deal closure.
    • Negotiate with
    Clients:
    Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements, while ensuring alignment with IBM's contracting strategy.
    • Collaborate with
    Deal Teams:
    Interface with Opportunity Owners and deal teams to understand business requirements and provide contracting support to drive deal closure.
      Assess and Articulate Risk:
      Assess and articulate the risk to business teams on deviations to IBM terms and conditions, ensuring informed decision-making.
        Provide Contracting Expertise:
        Apply knowledge of IBM's contracting strategy to provide expert advice and guidance to deal teams and stakeholders.
        • Required technical and professional expertise
        • Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 Commercial Procurement knowledge.
        Contract Negotiation Experience:
        Experience with contract negotiation, drafting, and review, including assessing and articulating risks associated with non-standard terms and conditions.
          Contracting Strategy Knowledge:
          Experience in understanding and articulating a company's contracting strategy to support business objectives and ensure alignment with organizational policies.
            Client-Facing Interaction:
            Experience working with clients to negotiate contractual terms and conditions, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
              Contractual Risk Assessment:
              Experience assessing and articulating the risk to business teams on deviations to standard terms and conditions, ensuring informed decision-making.
                Cross-Functional Collaboration:
                Experience collaborating with various stakeholders, including deal teams and opportunity owners, to drive deal closure and support business objectives.
                • Active TS SCI with CI polygraph required (CI + Lifestyle poly preferred)
                • Preferred technical and professional experience
                • Contract Management Tools:
                  Experience with contract management tools and systems to efficiently manage and track contracts and negotiations.
                Industry-Specific Contracting:
                Experience in contracting and negotiation within the technology industry, including familiarity with industry-specific terms and conditions.
                  Commercial Contract Law:
                  Experience with commercial contract law, including understanding of contract principles, laws, and regulations that govern business transactions.
