Job Description

This position is located in Office of the General Counsel. This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within the agency. The supervisor is Matthew Pociask. In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least eight to ten years of specialized experience the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized Experience:
In addition to the basic requirements, to qualify for this position you must have specialized experience comparable in complexity and responsibility to the kind of work normally assigned at the GG-15 level in the Federal government or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates extensive knowledge and application of legal principles and Federal administrative law, and significant experience in arguing complex cases in Federal courts, including the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Extensive knowledge of general legal principles and Federal administrative law, including judicial decisions, statutes, and regulations. Significant experience writing briefs, and arguing complex cases before Federal Courts, including the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals. Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills, with experience in effectively conveying complex legal, technical, programmatic, and policy information to colleagues, senior management officials, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to serve as an organizational representative and liaison, build collaborative relationships, and achieve cooperation and consensus on high priority matters.
