Bassett Murray Law Group is a growing law firm with offices in Ann Arbor and Petoskey. We are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services while maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment. We are seeking motivated, professional, and client-focused Associate Attorneys to join our office in both locations.
Position Summary:
The Associate Attorney will manage a caseload, represent clients in court proceedings, provide legal counsel, draft legal documents, collaborate with team members and work closely with clients and support staff to achieve favorable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned caseload from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and time entries per office protocol.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative team members.
  • Participate in business development and community networking activities. Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and people relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work and professional ethics.
  • Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $75,000-$100,000 annually, depending on experience.
