Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Defense Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic legal team. In this role, you will handle all aspects of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense and/or personal injury matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of civil defense litigation matters from inception through resolution Conduct legal research and perform thorough case analysis and due diligence Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents Take and defend depositions Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and trials Provide strategic legal advice and risk mitigation guidance to clients Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case handling
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction Prior experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
