Based in Rochester Hills, MI. Potestivo & Associates employs over 40 employees and operates a network of 2 offices in 2 states. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional legal services through a partnership based on integrity and respect for our clients, our employees and the communities in which we serve. We are currently seeking a licensed Supervising Attorney with preferably 2+ years of relevant experience in Mortgage Default, Real Estate, Title litigation and/or Foreclosure. Position is located in the Rochester Hills, Michigan office. Manage your own caseload, which includes, but is not limited to : Drafting complaints, dispositive motions, and settlement documents Attending court hearings, including, but not limited to, motion hearings, pre-trial conferences, evidentiary hearings, and trials, throughout Michigan Reviewing and responding to discovery requests, as well as propounding discovery and conducting depositions Reviewing contested pleadings and drafting responses, replies, and/or motions Investigating facts and legal issues to determine causes of action Researching, analyzing, and interpreting sources of law such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, case law, and other legal opinions Ensuring deadlines are maintained Entering and reviewing billable time Complying with client requirements This position will work directly with the Firm's clients in providing recommendations and determining strategies for proceeding The caseload includes title litigation, contested foreclosures and evictions, nuisance abatement, collections, landlord-tenant, and other real estate related civil litigation
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school Must be licensed in the State of Michigan and be an active and in good standing member of the State Bar of Michigan Must be licensed in the Eastern District of Michigan with ability to gain licensure in Western District of Michigan Minimum 2 years of litigation or foreclosure experience
Skills:
Proficient with: LexisNexis Advance Microsoft Office(Outlook, Word, Excel) Case Management Systems (Case Aware Software a plus) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple Departments Very organized and strong attention to detail Strong research and investigative skills Excellent written and communication skills Strong oral advocacy skills
