The Case Manager will play a crucial role in assisting clients who have been involved in personal injury claims by managing their case files and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with care.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain client case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible. Assist clients in gathering necessary documentation related to their cases. Coordinate with legal staff to ensure all client information is complete and accurate. Update and manage electronic and physical filing systems. Respond to client inquiries regarding their case files and provide updates as needed. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care. Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team. Essential Functions Under the direction of a Supervising Case Manager and/or supervising attorney, communicate with clients via phone, email and correspondence during the pre-suit process to address their questions and concerns and to provide and obtain updates. Under the direction of a Supervising Case Manager and/or supervising attorney, draft and monitor compliance with FOIA requests. Gather and review medical and billing records. Under the direction of a Supervising Case Manager and/or supervising attorney, draft and send pre-suit settlement demands when appropriate to resolve claims pre-litigation. Conduct timely follow-up on all outstanding documents/assignments and escalate when appropriate. Competencies Communication & Consultation Proficiency (Strong People Skills). Cultural Awareness. Relationship Management. Excellent Telephone Etiquette Ability to prepare accurate and error-free documents in a timely manner. Ethical Practice Ability to manage time and multiple priorities in a changing environment Preferred, but not required: Familiarity with General Negligence, Civil Rights, exceptions to Worker Compensation immunity, Title IX claims Preferred, but not required: Certified Paralegal certification or comparable work experience equivalent.
